Give Forward

The future doesn't look too bright when it comes to healthcare and rising medical expenses. So I'm more than happy to help spread the word about a personal fundraising websites that helps people pay for chronic conditions and medical emergencies. Give Forward lets you create a limited-time donation page detailing a patient's situation and information on medical costs accruing that health insurance companies will not pay. Friends and family can then easily contribute to a loved one's out-of-pocket medical expenses via social network. What a creative way to help families with the overflowing expenses of getting ill in today's world.
I listened to Give Forward's co-founder, "the banana guy" Ethan Austin, interview on Empower Radio. He explains how we are all just one accident or diagnosis away from huge medical debt even with health care insurance. Ethan is a very positive, caring guy with a great sense of humor (the magic key to smiling through the unbearable). His organization actually has rules for all employees to either hug a customer or make someone smile by sending random gifts, supportive emails, or just doing something kind for a fellow employee or customer (people dealing with a medical crisis are usually in particular need of a little boost). I wish more companies had this kindness-centric atmosphere!
If you know a family dealing with a medical crisis, please tell them about Give Forward.
Thank you Cate Conroy for sharing this unique website with me!
